History

Evergreen Philharmonic was established as an auditioned high school symphony orchestra in the fall of 1991. It was the natural outgrowth of the orchestral program which was founded by Doug Longman with fifth graders in the Issaquah School District in the fall of 1983. In the years since, the orchestra has matured into a professional training orchestra that has sent graduates to all the top conservatories in the country. The orchestra performs standard symphonic repertoire and has traveled to Europe and Canada as well New york and Boston and Los Angeles.
